Thank you. Very thorough and helpful. We are looking for trees for a new piece of property we want to buy, develop and live on. I think we found one of our future neighbors.

A friend in my tai chi class gave me a bag of ginkgo nuts. I ate one immediately and was surprised at the bitter taste and the soft texture. How can I use these in cooking--stir fry? Recipes or ideas any one?

Thank you so much for your wonderful site! It is great and very helpful. I have admired Ginkgo's for a long time and yesterday I purchased one for my yard. I am looking forward to keep learning.

I have a 9' Ginkgo in an 18" pot that I want to transplant to a larger pot. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with transplanting. I had thought fall/winter would be best, but now I have heard that it might be better in the summer when the system is active and has the energy to recover.

Hi teresa in Ohio! I'm in Nashville, but you are welcome to come get some saplings! I have lived here 11 years and LOVE my Ginko tree! She bears fruit every year and I have never seen saplings come up.....until this year and I have a least 100! I would love to see these grow and grow and give others the joy my tree has given me!

Hi,
My mom has a female Ginko tree in her yard. The people who lived there before us had received one of several saplings at a garden club meeting years ago. this lady planted the tree close to the house. Now we have ginko seedlings growing in mom's yard around her walkway. My sister has claimed a couple of saplings for her yard and has one tree started. Mom and Patsy are interested in distributing some of these young seedlings. We have no way of determining gender. Where can they sell the seedlings for other folks to enjoy? I use to climb this tree when we were both younger. I plan on setting out one or two of the seedlings in my yard but further away from the house. I guess there is a male tree in town from when they were given to the garden club. Thanks, Kay Riebel

I love your site, I was going down the road on a fall
day and all the cars in front of me started going really slow, come to find out they where slowing down to look at a Ginkgo Tree, I knew then I had to find out more about them and buy me one. I have one now planted in my front yard, it is almost 6 feet tall. I knew they had alot of history behind them, but no ideal, just have much until I came across you site. Thank you so much for the info !!!!

Thanks for putting all the detailed info together. I have always loved the ginkgo since I was a little boy. I brought some seeds picked up at a public park in Lisbon (Portugal) last year, so I am going to follow the steps to try to get them to germinate

hi. I was so happy to find your site. The images of surviving ginkos are extraordinarily touching! Can you help me locate a photo of a very old ginko at a monastery, I think in Kyoto or Nara? I saw it when I was there in high school and was very impressed. I am going to photograph ginkos in NYC and will send you some if they come out well.

best,
Mary Newell

Saludos cordiales Raquel

Just bought a fairly large (20 gal. pot) ginko at an old lumberyard. It had been there several years that I know of. I am looking forward to growing old watching it grow old. Thanks for the info.
