Thanks for a great website! I serendipitously found 3 large fruiting females in our area and hope to grow lots of seedings for pre-bonsai.

I love the information. I have 5 trees that survived out of 10 that germinated from 210 seeds I picked from some trees that were in front of a Bank in Ithaca N.Y. I planted them all that year and covered the area with wire cloth. Unfortunately something got under the wire cloth and ate most of the seeds. But to my surprise 10 sprouted! I just love these trees and learned much at your website. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your extensive website!
San Diego Zoological Society has a lovely stand of ginkgo trees at its Safari Park in San Diego County, California. I started with a tiny seedling from their garden store a few years ago, and now have a potted 4 foot tree on my balcony. Happy to read on your site that I can top the tree this fall, before it outgrows the available space!

Hi Cor. I have a Gingko tree I purchased in 1982. It was large then. Turns out it was a female tree. It is very unusual in a number of ways. It is upright. I've read that female trees usually spread. It doesn’t produce much fruit, and the BIG news is the fruits have a very light oder. A local nurseryman took about 10 cuttings to be grafted. I have many small seedling trees I would love to find a home for. Branches for grafting are also welcome. My number is 785 969 9988. If my address is needed please let me know. Thank you, Mike Brookshire

I've always loved the ginkgo tree. I was pleased to pick out a spot for my beloved mother's burial in a cemetery where there are a dozen gingko trees. They are beautiful any time, but especially in the Fall. Thank you, Cor Kwant, for your informative website!
