I will be watching my two seedlings...hopefully they are both males, despite the shape of the leaves which are VERY different!

Thank you for your web site. I have 3 gingkos in my yard. One I planted in 1984' and two others more recently.
I have always loved them for their beautiful leaves, and mysterious reproduction, as well as for being living fossils. Unfortunately, I understand why the females are unpopular.
I actuallly try to support native plants, but I love the ginkgos. Thanks for maintaining this website. Your videos and music are a real find.

Hi Cor,
I am responsible for recording champion and heritage trees here in Ireland for the tree council of Ireland.I see your website only includes 2 entries which inadequately represents over 70 mature ginkgos I have recorded of 1m girth or and 10m height.Please visit our website Tree Council of Ireland and click on heritage trees for some of our best examples.Contact Mary Keenan,director of the tree council for permission to include photos and info which might help your website fill the gap in knowledge of our trees.

Ness Botanic Garden has a mature tree planted c. 1900 by Arthur Kilpin Bulley near the Potting Shed - this will be the one referred to in your list. But recently another tree was planted in a prominent position by the main entrance to the Visitor Centre. I would guess it is now 20 years old.

In Crosby, Merseyside, a tree was planted in a private garden in 2002 in memory of Dr Philip Taylor (1921-2002), consultant pathologist at Fazackerley Hospital.

I just love the beauty of the ginkgo leaves. I had a tree for over 10 years in a pot and than it died. Here our climate is rainy,summer is hot and during winter months it get cold down to 57 degrees and some areas colder espeically when we have snow on mauna Kea and mauna Loa
I thank you( mahalo) for letting me visit your wonderful ang enjoyable web site.Sheyla

The site is beautiful! I currently do Ginkgo bonsai work and enjoy every second. I love Indiana University; the main reason being the two giant ginkgo trees (male and female). The last couple of summers have been dry, but the she still drops plenty of fruit. Wishing for plenty of rain this year.

I have a Gingko tree in my pond garden area on 51 Bridle Road In Ludlow, MA and as a science teacher planted one at the Grammar School at 41 School Street in Somesville, CT. Thank you for you site. I want to do some art work and left my leaves in MA. I am in Florida and have been looking for a ginkgo tree. I wish I had checked earlier as I was in Animal Kingdome just last week. You'd think the Edison Estates would have one - just ruber and Banyan.

I started 14 Ginkgo trees from seed 20-years ago and only one (1) survived. I planted it in my front yard and it is now 20-feet high and very healthy. It's a beautiful tree and I'm proud of it.

J'ai acheté un Ginkgo il y a 20 ans passés ; cet arbre et tout son origine me fascine beaucoup. Il se comporte très bien dans ma zone de rusticité 4 B .
Bravo à vous Cor Want ! ce site est vraiment très bien construit ! ";
